W. Scott Forbes is an illustrator and art director living in Toronto, Canada. He made his professional debut providing covers and interiors for Image / Shadowline Comics’ acclaimed miniseries ‘Forgetless’. More recently, Scott’s cover illustrations have been seen on major releases from DC Comics’ Vertigo imprint, Marvel Comics, BOOM! Studios and Image Comics.

Hi! My name is W. Scott Forbes and I am an art director, illustrator and comic artist living and working in Toronto, Canada. My work has a strong focus towards character design, light & color design and location exploration which contribute to a unique and compelling overall design aesthetic. In March 2012, my thesis film, ‘A Good Wife’ was selected by Vimeo (who had deemed it a ‘Staff Pick’) to be shown at the 2012 SXSW Film Festival.

I’ve illustrated / designed comic book covers for clients such as: Marvel Comics, DC Comics, Vertigo Comics, Image Comics & BOOM! Studios.

Art Director on Ever After High

As Art Director, my role at the beginning of the project was to work alongside the director and client (Mattel Playground Productions) to help develop and establish a unique visual aesthetic for their property Ever After High® – defining the look of the show and leading a talented team of artists who are equally dedicated to contributing strong designs and inspired work to the show.
